Life story

Christopher David Samson was born on July 26, 1979 and went home on Thursday September 28, 2007 to be with the Lord Jesus forever.

To his parents, he was a son and a friend. To his family, he was an inspiration, and example and a challenge. To his me maw and papa, he was a beloved grandson and to all of us he was a treasure and someone we loved. He cared about his friends and family very much and always tried to be an example to them.

He was a scholar and a soldier. Christopher joined the United States Air Force when he was 21 and served his country faithfully until his final deployment with Jesus. He can now say with the Apostle Paul, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me on that day." As a scholar, he attended Brunswick Community College, Georgia Military Academy and other academic institutions. He was a lover of history.

He was very sensitive to the needs and feelings of other people and never wanted to be a disappointment to anyone. His life was a life of service and even at a tender age when he went on a mission trip, he actively involved in the puppet ministry.

More than everything else, he was happy and had steady communion with God. He enjoyed life to the fullest so that when his time came, he was fully ready for the occasion. He talked with God about his life and mission. His mother had a dream that at this deployment, she must not worry about him, but rejoice at his good fortune. That is what he says to us today ~ "Don't weep for me for I am with Him for all eternity."

He is survived by his mother Brenda Jean Hewett; his father David Samson; his stepmother Krista Samson; two sisters, Lydia and Helena; grandparents Myron and Barbara Samson, Dee Abney and Glen Speaks; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends.
